Ellis Jackson winner of the 2017 Best Newcomer of the Year at the IRP Awards-has recently gone solo with his own Gloucestershire based recruitment company.

Thrive Education has been set up by Ellis Jackson and his wife Jennifer (a former teacher and supply agency user) to cover supply needs in the South West. Their mission is to use their combined experience in recruitment and teaching to offer a recruitment experience that rises above that offered by their competitors in an already crowded and established field. A robust understanding of the ever more complex legal requirements that the Education sector demands is combined with a wish to create a people centred environment that really focuses on giving the best service possible to highly motivated teachers and busy schools alike.

Commenting on his unique business model Ellis underlines his commitment to this new approach. “ The secret of a successful agency is to really look at the needs of both schools and teachers. It would be easy to take a ‘ plug the gap ‘ approach but in the long run this isn’t what builds a meaningful and honest relationship with practitioners , it’s not always about making money, you need to show genuine commitment to the details of a placement to really thrive”.

Ellis Thorne has an exceptional history in the educational recruitment world having started his career back in 2016, he has since gone from strength to strength picking up nominations and personal awards along this journey. The most notable being the Best Newcomer of the Year award from the prestigious IRP awards in 2017. Ellis was nominated alongside some tough competition including the likes of Hyper Recruitment Solutions, a company that has investment from none other than Lord Alan Sugar himself.

Ellis Thorne hopes to extend his understanding of how schools work and what it takes to get the right teacher in the right class to every aspect of his recruitment service. This includes teachers, teaching assistants and senior leadership candidates in a wide variety of settings including Early Years, Primary, Secondary and SEMH/SEN provisions.

A school business manager from an establishment Thrive Education currently works with had nothing but praise for the service she had received saying

“I have worked with Ellis for a number of years now and can honestly say that the support and service he provides is second to none. Not only is Ellis very professional and personable, he understands how schools work and (very importantly for me) does not do the pushy salesman role at all. Ellis has always gone above and beyond and provided a level of support I hadn’t envisaged. Other supply/recruitment service providers would have to do an awful lot more to try to match this level of support.”

Early feedback from both teachers and schools has been very positive and a sure sign that Thrive Education has the right approach and is set to be a refreshing new force in the world of recruitment.

All it can really do now is…thrive!
